About Us

We believe AI will be an important technological transformation for accounting firms and SMEs. For the first time, it has become possible to significantly reduce the core effort involved in financial accounting. The new technology is arriving at exactly the right moment, because the labor shortage is acute. Half of all firms have open positions they can't fill. Many turn clients away weekly due to a lack of capacity. Sometimes even the quality of advisory work suffers.

Our mission is to enable accounting firms to grow even without additional staff—and to help shape a future where advisory work is at the core.

Our Team

Our team has already developed successful software products for tax offices. We combine expertise in AI, tax, and product design.

Tim Hermes, Co-founder

Tim built the expert service at the fintech Taxfix. His team developed software for accounting firms that saved 30 minutes per income tax return.

Markus Jungnickel, Co-founder

Markus is a computer scientist (Imperial College London) and former lawyer (top of his class at Cambridge). Previously, he worked at the fintech Trade Republic.

Kilian Justus, Co-founder

Kilian introduced two international markets as a product manager at Taxfix. He was the first employee at the AI product studio Genova.ai.

Agustin Mayer, Founding Engineer

Agustin led a Taxfix engineering team that built from scratch a new product for German accounting firms to prepare income tax returns.

Mika Rebensburg, Founding ML Engineer

Mika optimized AI language models with hundreds of thousands of users at Amazon. He holds a Master's in Mathematics in Data Science from TU Munich.

Johannes Messner, Founding ML Engineer

Johannes developed language models (LLMs) at Aleph Alpha and built AI search systems at Jina AI. He holds a Master's in Computer Science from the University of Oxford.

Jaro Müller, Founding GTM

Jaro co-founded and scaled a recruiting agency serving clients across the DAX, Nikkei, and CAC 40. He previously worked as a consultant at Roland Berger.

Oshomo Oforomeh, Founding Engineer

Oshomo was a Staff Software Engineer at Taxfix, where he went deep into the tax logic for income tax and VAT. Before that, he worked on payment systems at trivago.

Carina Kauf, Founding ML Engineer

Carina developed language models (LLMs) at Aleph Alpha. She holds a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she researched language models.

Sergey Mamulchenko, Founding Engineer

Sergey was responsible for large parts of the architecture at Forto, the logistics unicorn, and introduced a new AI product line. Previously, he was CTO of a software company.

Janina Rüdel, Founding GTM

Janina is a certified German tax specialist (Steuerfachwirtin) who spent several years working in tax firms – at HSP Steuer and most recently at zuno.tax. She brings that first-hand perspective from daily practice in tax firms to Tabula.

Finn Wallrafen, Founding GTM

At Celonis, Finn helped DAX-listed corporations run AI-powered analytics on top of their ERP systems. He previously worked as a consultant at Bain & Company.
